The 2012 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard is quite powerful and intense today, with a gorgeous interplay of fruit, acidity and tannin. Game, smoke, sweet red cherries, menthol and tobacco open up in the glass, but the Savoy is mostly a wine of texture backed up by considerable energy and power. I imagine the Savoy will be even better once the tannins soften a bit further. 92 points from Vinous.
IronGate.Wine is delighted to present the first tranche of a very fine Burgundian cellar from Toronto. It came to us from a fervent collector who took pride in his meticulously kept bottles and was always very acquainted with his investments in the region. His entire collection was professionally stored in Canada. While it is challenging to see his wines for sale, it is because he is relocating to Beaune permanently to live among the vines and terroir.
