The medium to dark ruby-colored 1997 Charmes-Chambertin is a hedonism addict's dream wine. Its blackberry and Asian spice-laden nose leads to a mouth full of palate-saturating black cherries, coffee, ice cream, and loads of sweet spices. This suave, rich, immensely dense, thick, and intense wine is broad and full-bodied. Projected maturity: now-2006+.
IronGate.Wine is delighted to present the first tranche of a very fine Burgundian cellar from Toronto. It came to us from a fervent collector who took pride in his meticulously kept bottles and was always very acquainted with his investments in the region. His entire collection was professionally stored in Canada. While it is challenging to see his wines for sale, it is because he is relocating to Beaune permanently to live among the vines and terroir.
